An essence encroaching upon

My mind, and I guess I’m just

Trying to describe

But when I really needed them most

The words: They failed me

So I lay the quill to rest

And bathed in the ink

Because what you really are

Is all of me

I’ll walk along the tiles

Till the station

So now you are,

The journey

Fill in those footsteps

And I’m sure you’d pain me

It is I who follows

You: still upheld

My feet all stained

And yours: the ground has

Never felt

I’m sure you’ll but wonder

How the garden got there

Bottled perfume from the Lavender

But wish you planted them there

You can.

But when you see the smog

Or trek through jagged wear

There’s probably

Light ink blots

Dotted everywhere.

Sadiyya describes the lasting impact of love through poetry.
