Dear Crystal,
I am a second year living in halls. I only live in halls because my strict parents didn’t feel safe letting me go into private renting.
I have plenty of friends, however, they all moved out of halls after first year, and now live scattered all about London. I feel the pangs of loneliness a lot now. I used to be able to walk over to their rooms and now they’re miles away. I feel so hopeless, what do I do?

Mr Lonely
Dear Mr Lonely,
I’m sorry you’re feeling blue. That does sound rough. You should let your friends know that you’re missing them. Don’t feel no shame in showing them some love; it’s autumn and everyone could do with some physical and emotional warmth.
Since your mates are scattered around, use that as a reason to get out and explore. Maybe it’s time to get yourself a Santander cycle membership? You get a workout cycling plus the endorphin boost should make you feel better, because, science. Orrrr, you could just give in to the TfL Gods and get a student Oyster.
Besides reaching out to your friends, it can’t hurt to make a friend or two in your current student hall. It might be nice to cook dinner with them. There’s nothing like food that brings people together. If you’re still feeling low, have a cookie. Cookies heal all pain.
xoxo,
Crystal Claire
