The Beaver is looking for contributors to its annual Black History Month special issue

Each year the LSE community and the Beaver mark Black History Month, celebrated in the UK each October since 1987, with a commemorative issue noting the historical and current achievements of the global black community. This year will be no different.

SU Education Officer Martha Ojo and second-year International Relations student Eileen Gbagbo are leading this October’s events, titled Black Out, and will guest edit the Beaver for a week. For the special issue they are looking for articles of up to 700 words on areas including (but not limited to) politics, culture, comment and history. Other pitches and submissions are welcome.

The Beaver will print its commemorative issue on Tuesday October 8th, Week 3 of MT. All articles should be sent with the subject line ‘BHM Beaver’ to Eileen at e.gbagbo@lse.ac.uk. The deadline for submissions is 6pm on Monday September 17.
