*So Celestial*

I want to stand here with my jaw

Slack against the floor

But it won’t reach; it’s hinged.

I don’t mean to pry or scare,

But if we rolled out your intestines,

They’d be everywhere.

Yet they fit; and so perfectly,

You sit.

Like everything,

Made up of all that matter,

So compressed,

All contained.

It’s no wonder I’ve passed days,

I’d hope to wash it from within.

That I’d throw up tissues,

And roll down droplets,

To protect it from

Infinitesimal

Mountains.

Maybe they breathe,

But we do too.

I could fill these walls to the brim,

Till they turn pink,

But nothing would stand still.

I lay my hand against the milkyway,

I trace fingers along great nebulas.

I pull away,

And there you are

Close enough for the eye to see.

Sadiyya paints a picture of intimacy and connection through a poetic exploration of love and space.
